Alright, let's cut through the usual recruiter fluff. If you're a CDL-A driver and you're tired of chasing freight that doesn't show up- this local gig actually delivers what it promises. We're talking consistent miles, a schedule that gets you home every day, and a paycheck that averages $1,600 a week. That shakes out to around $83,000 a year for running regional routes. Not too shabby for sleeping in your own bed every night.
How That Paycheck Adds UpIt's not just about the base rate- the extras stack up fast. Here's the breakdown:
You'll be running 100% touch freight using a powered pallet jack- and don't worry if you haven't used one before, because we provide full training (including a 2-day ride-along at $100/day to get you comfortable).
You'll be hauling a mix of refrigerated and dry van freight , making deliveries all across Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky . On a typical shift, you'll cover 200–300 miles with 2 to 4 loads and about 6 to 8 stops . It's steady work that keeps you moving without running you ragged.
Just a heads-up- this is a slip-seat operation , so you'll be hopping into a well-maintained truck that's ready to roll when you are.
The Schedule – Straight TalkThis is a 3rd shift position with a 9:00 PM start . Shifts usually run 10 to 12 hours , so you'll get a full day's work in and still have time to decompress.
You'll have 2 days off each week for some solid recovery time- but you do need to be available for nights, weekends, and pretty much any day the freight needs to roll . That's just the reality of keeping dedicated freight moving on schedule. Also, you'll occasionally need to support our Woodlawn location when they're short-handed, so flexibility there is a must.
